Benefits

The benefits of managing your own home building project are many but here are a few that we think are the most important.

You’re in Control of the Entire Project

It all starts with an accurate cost estimate, so YOU can make good decisions about where and how to spend your money.

For FREE, we'll sit down with you and create a Project Cost Estimate for your dream home. Our Project Cost Estimate helps you to make decisions about square footage, finishes, number of bedrooms, baths, or garage bays, as well as how much to spend on land. We'll build the house on paper, from the ground up. We'll include everything from the well or the water tap to trash haul off. Our estimate will cover everything it will take to finish your house.

You get exactly what you want

We have the resources to help you design and build your dream home the right way.  A dream home begins with a good design and a good plan. If it is right on paper, it will be right when you build it. Whether you've sketched your home on a napkin, drafting table, or computer, our resources can turn that dream into a full set of buildable construction drawings.

When the Building Project is Finished, You Have More Equity in Your Home

By being in charge of the project, you automatically build "sweat equity".  Your hard work helps you build dollar equity in your home project. Just coordinating and planning the job—simple construction management – builds sweat equity. You’ll build your home at cost. That means no profit for a builder, and no “mark-up” or “overhead” on materials or labor. Building at cost means more upgrades or a smaller mortgage loan. Home construction is complex, but not complicated. A good system and proper planning go a long way toward making the project manageable and relatively easy. Construction knowledge is helpful but not essential. You can build additional sweat equity by pitching in and doing some of the work yourself. If you have the skills, you may enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes with being “on the job”.

Any One, Any Age, Any Profession Can Act as Their Own General Contractor

HomeWrights clients are people like you. Some are working professionals. Some are stay-at-home moms or dads. Some are young couples building their starter home. Some are families building their dream home or retirees building their cabin in the mountains. Some HomeWrights clients are do-it-yourself types with a garage full of tools, and some don’t know a stud from a p-trap. What all our clients have in common is the desire to get a quality home for less and be in control of the building process.

Your new home is a custom home.  Your custom home is unique. It has never been built before. You will add special touches and design features that no other home will have. HomeWrights personnel will be there with you, to help you understand what it will mean if you decide to “move that window” or change the stair layout, raise the ceilings or finish the bonus room.
